Page 1 of any body got the new pioneer 3100/5100

Has any one got the new pioneer 3100 or the 5100 if so how do you rate them.
pic/sound etc.how good is the picture in LP mode. 8)

I have a 5100,having already gone through a Philips DVD+machine,and a Panasonic RAM/-R/HDD machine too.The 5100 has the same picture quality as all these models.Personally,I would never use the LP(4HOUR) mode as the picture is not good enough.But ,depending on whether its a treasured recording,3 hours gives adequate quality.Even LP far exceeds anything vhs has to offer.But the Pioneer is a better bet than any other make,unless RGB input is a necessity.

My brother-in-law has the 3100, and I don`t like the PQ on pre-recorded discs. The PQ on recorded discs isn`t that much better either!! :)

The 3100 has been discontinude.

Your optimistic eyes seem like paradise to someone like me.

If they discontinue the 5100 aswell,lets hope they create the best dvdr/hdd combo on the market by adding an RGB input this time
