Page 1 of ANYONE TRIED 2.27 ON SC2000???????????????

I have seen people talking about 2.27 for the scan/grundig
Wondered if anyone has tried this on the scan and can report on the differences from 2.23.

ps-Beware that 2.27 is NOT an official scan upgrade and i wouldent encourage anyone to install untested firmware-I have heard one report of someone not being able to change region etc.

I`ve been messing around with the firmware.

V2.23 (Official Scan)
Video is okay.
SVCD DOESN`T work.
Matrix plays fine.
MP3 skips first 2 seconds on MMJB encoded MP3`s.
VCR Friendly.

V2.25 (Official Scan)
Video is okay.
SVCD DOES works.
Matrix has a glitch. After Neo sees the Woman in the red dress the image freezes and the blue shadows come back.
MP3`s play fine.
VCR unfriendly.

V2.28 (TYT release)
Video is okay but in NTSC or MULTI modes only (No PAL).
Matrix has a glitch. After Neo sees the Woman in the red dress the image freezes and the blue shadows come back.
Never tried SVCD or MP3.
No SCART mode option for S-Video or Composite.
NO MULTI-REGION.
I`ve forwarded this information to Nelley and I`m back to version 2.23

I`ve just tried FW 2.27 on my Grundig GDV 130: MP3 functions were improved (beginnings of songs aren`t cut, forward funcion ist better), and brightness of picture was more adequate than before. Codefree (bypass) and Macrovision off still worked.
But I`ve discovered a problem with my US-DVD "The Evil Dead - Special Collector`s Edition": there was some flickering in some scenes I hadn`t had with FW 2.07. So I uploaded FW 2.07 again and the DVD worked again properly!
(Also, another GDV 130 user mentioned in a German DVD Forum that a selfmade SVCD with JPG-pictures didn`t work with FW 2.27).

I don`t know if these problems appear on a SC 2000 as well, but at least for GDV 130 users FW 2.27 doesn`t seem to be the final solution...
