RE: Toshiba Dr-1 Recorder at Richer Sounds for £279.99 Anybody got one??
I was going to buy one of these tomorrow but was not aware of any problems associated with it; I am interested in what these problems are and what the `best buy` DVD recorder is.

To clarify:
The Panasonic E50 has problems and
You have a DR1 and are happy with it.
Is this correct?

I read a couple of reviews including one where someone moaned about his Tosh unable to recognise/record any RW disc he tried. He claimed that even the friendly people at Tosh were unable to solve the problem.
I think he must have just been unlucky, whereas if you buy Phillips, you seem to be asking for trouble.
Anyway, if wossname`s happy with his, its good enough for me. I think I`ll get one. I would consider the Panny E-55, but it doesn`t have an i-Link which I`d find very useful for hooking up to the camcorder.

What benefits does an i-link give ?
I record from a digital camera onto DVD all the time using an E50 and the S-video connection.
Piece of proverbial.
