LG 3350E and seamless branching

John Hodson (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 4th March 2001, 11:41

Anyone else had trouble with seamless branching on the LG 3350E? Tried it on Region 1 X-Men last night, switched branching to `on` in the disk menu and although the logo appeared on the screen to warn me that branching was about to happen it didn`t.
Switched branching to `off` and bugger me it did it, but only for one scene.
Is it the disk or the player (firmware 1.4 BTW)

Later: oops - now it`s working. Ah, the wonders of DVD...

What is this seamless branching you speak of?

Many DVDs feature deleted scenes; some feature seamless braching to give you the option of incorporating those scenes into the movie. Rather spoils the effect though when the movie`s anamorphic and the deleted scenes aren`t...

I also have LG3350 and it works perfectly on the R1 ABYSS, i simply cant see the branching at all, one of the reasons I purchased it was the ability to do the branching and I so far very pleased. It does take a while to load some disks but generally think its quite a good player.
