Can any body out there help me ?
I`m looking for a mains adapter for a mpman-dvl7 portable
(which I believe is the same as the Cyberhome CH-LDV 710 DVD Player) am I right?.
Any advice would be greatly welcome.
Thanks :(

Pulse may be able to help.

Pulse Service Centre Ltd.
Unit 1, Tregwilym Industrial Estate,
Rogerstone NP10 9DQ,
South Wales, UK

Alternatively 9V DC O/P 2.2 Amps, centre pole is positive, negative outer.

What happened to the old unit?

Already sent an e-mail to pulse, with no reply.
The old unit just died and I could`nt fix it...
found a site that sells replacements for cyberhome chl-dv 707b, 712, 702 I have to check if they are the same...

The unit shouldnt be that old & out of warranty already? Mind you I am not convinced my battery life is keeping pace with its alleged capacity. Despite running it to flat after each use. :(

710 UK (712 US should be compatible mind the voltage rating) is the same though. :)

Ack!

Did you find anything conclusive to the failure? My electronics knowledge is getting rusty from disuse. :(

I`m out of electronics a good while myself, but it`s a switched mode power supply with a opto-isolator I got only so far in the circuit and got lost.Got an engineer mate to look at it and he got lost so I didnt feel so bad. :/

How many times have I fallen into that trap, "I will just take a peek inside as its faulty", though I dont tend to go into sealed units if in warranty.

Stared helplessly at dead circuit board on my Combination boiler Saturday night, my tools & reliable meter 200 miles away @ work. :(

Hi,
You should be able to replace the original mains adapter by any adapter with an output of 9V and minimal 2.2 A.

The size of the socket is standardized all over the world for the voltage.

You should be able to find such an adapter in any hardware store (DIY?). If you buy one suitable for more than 1 voltage, be sure you switch to the right voltage (9V) and that the output current is not less then 2.2A for that voltage.

How long have you had your mpman karl7?

I bought one at the weekend and the mains adaptor packed in after only a couple of hours!! >:(
