proline2000 - an old DVD player witha new case?

I have heard that the proline DVD player is actually an older DVD machine just with a new case is this true?
Also does anyone know how to disable the Macrovision on the Proline?
How do you copy a NTSC disc onto a PAL video?
One more queston, has anyone else had problems with their sound on their DVD player? Mine goes out of sync with the picture sometimes!

i also had a proline 2000 which also had lip sync probs, i ended up flogging it when it could not even read recognise my copy of dinosaur disc 1 or 2 and could not even read cdr`s, so i bought an alba 104 (yeah, yeah, yeah) which plays dinosaur with no probs but also plays vcd`s, spurious films burned onto any old cdr,it also plays rce encoded discs with out having to carry out 1 single hack, o yes and it was only 150 squid, what do u want 4 this kind of money

You can play NTSC films on a PAL TV by setting the output from auto to pal i had this problem too for about 3 minutes anyways :)

The Proline 2000 is a clone of the Oritron 600 (that was released in the UK just before christmas)

It can play certain CD-RW, it can play VCD (you might have to use a remote hack to enable VCD mode as it`s normally disabled to avoid the $2 license fee to Philips for VCD playback) Also plays RCE discs even when in ALL region mode.

A macrovision disable code exists (confirmed by Oritron) but they will not reveal it (for legal reasons)

BTW: The firmware update CD sorts out the Dinosaur problem and a load of other problems
