Page 1 of Chipped player problem

My current player is a chipped sharp that is around 3yrs old, ever since it`s been chipped it has problems with some soundtracks (i.e. the sound cuts out occassionally). i was hoping to buy a new player, but i wondered if all chipped players have these problems, or only a select few? Pioneer players esp.

In short, no! Definitely not.

I can see no reason why `chipping` a player would affect the audio output, unless (for example) the installation was botched and one of the circuit board traces was damaged.

I got my sony DVP 536D for christmas 2000. I then sent it off in april 2001 to techtronics who chipped it for £125. I have never had any problems whatsoever with it. I know techtronics have had a bit of a thrashing on the old customer service front lately, but they did do an excellent job. My player was chipped long before RCE existed and it plays them fine, it also lets you get past all the user prohibitons too. I would say buy a sony and you`ll be fine.
