Advice on speaker package required!
I have £300 to £600 pounds to spend on a speaker package to compliment the Yamaha DSP A5.
Could anybody please tell me of recommended systems (inc sub woofer).
Should I consider getting a sub, centre speaker and two pairs of speakers as seperates or one complete package?
Any help and guidance gratefully appreciated!
RE: Advice on speaker package required!
Richer Sounds are doing a really good Eltax speaker deal (NOT the Moviemaxx package - avoid that one like the plague) - I forget the exact brand names of the speakers, but it clocks in at £230. I don`t believe that includes a sub tho`, which Richer do for around £120 (for a decent one - ignore the cheapo £60 jobs that they do).
It is generally recommended that the front two and centre speakers should be the same brand so that they match tonally. The rear ones don`t need to be, as they carry effects only (which the A5 throws around - try cheap Tannoy Mx1s, which are first class hi-fi speakers).
If you don`t have the cash, you can hold off buying the subwoofer for the moment, as long as the front speakers can handle a bit of clout - the A5 has a facility that enables you to send the Low Frequency Effects to the front left and right speakers, so it`s not too vital.
You may also like to visit your local Superfi if you have one - they normally have some good deals.

go to www.richersounds.com, they have the following offer:
Eltax Symphony 6.2+Gale Gold Monitors+Eltax Symphony Centre £220
I`ve listened to all of these speakers in different setups and would say they are VERY good value for £220.
Cheers,
