Panasonic HS2 dubbing from HDD

nick crowe (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 4th February 2004, 19:05

When I dub from the HDD it seems to lock out both AV1 and AV2 so I am unable to watch my digibox, I got round this by connecting an RF lead to the spare RF socket on the digibox and connecting it to my TV. Is this a feature of the HS2 or am I doing something wrong?

I recently purchased a new TV and I set up my system in exactly the same manner, but now when I press "function" or "direct navigator" and it flips to AV2 I get the "blue screen of death", if I then flip the TV back to AV1 the menu will appear there. This never happened with my old TV.

Also can anyone recommend the best DVD-R for use in this machine, I purchased a bundle of ICE DVD-R (4x Speed) but they are not very good.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

That also happens to me when i am dubbing as well, i think its something to do with us having sky hooked up to the recorder to enable rgb recording, but if anyone knows a way to hook it up so we can still record in rgb and watch sky if we`re dubbing a disc i would appreciate it. As for discs i use Datawrite 25pk spindles from my local pc shop, never had any trouble with them, or try the 5 for £15 TDK from tescos they are good too.

The only way to watch Sky while the HS2 is recording another input is to connect the vcr scart of Sky to another scart on your tv.If all your scarts are used, you would need to watch via RF(yuck)
