Page 1 of Cheapie Multiregion with no Macrovision

Does anyone know of a cheap player that is (or has an easy hack) multiregion that you can also turn off the macrovision so I can back up Disney DVD. I believe that an ALBA 45 might do it but I don`t know about the macrovision

It would appear from the website that this is a scart cable with fancy electrics to clean up the signal to the recieving DVD recorder.

I am planning to purchase the new Panasonic DVD recorder to make back up copies from my Marantz DV7010

Ok I`ll get round to my question which is threefold
Does the cable create a pure signal from the original and thus give a pure copy
Does it interfere with region coding
Will the Panasonic work

The problem is not macrovision but a second anti copy system known as CGMS that an increasing number of dvd disks have - and Disney is among the best protected. Esentially this inserts a flag on the disc that the dvd player sends to the dvd recorder to say don`t copy this disc. Players from mainstream manufacturers such a sony, panasonic etc will transmit this message but many supermarket Chinese players that can disable macrovision don`t send the CGMS signal. Now the EU Copyright Directive is part of UK law players that can disable macrovision will probably disappear from the legitimate market.
