Help with Sky and New TV Set-Up
Hi,
I have just bought a new telly (Bush RF6684VPL) and I am having a problem with Sky. I have 2 SCART sockets, with my DVD on AV1 and Sky on AV2, Sky is also tuned to channel 6 on th TV. The problem is that all terestrial channels are in `stereo` through the RF cable (channels 1-5) but Sky is not (on channel 6) but it is on AV2 - I can switch between mono/stereo on the other channels but not on Sky for channel 6.
This a bit annoying as the `Sky` button on the Sky remote switches the TV to channel 6 rather than AV2 >:( . I have checked that Stero output and Scart control is enabled on my digi box.
Any advice on getting Stereo on Channel 6 or getting the Sky remote to switch to AV2?
Thanks,
David.

you will only get mono from the RF leads on all devices except standard terrestrial stations.
Your Digibox should be switching to AV2 but it could be the telly has one off two things done:
Scart control on TV set to "map" to channel 6 on set (unlikely, but possible)
Scart 2 not enabled for pin 8 voltage switching.
Try the Sky box on AV1, and if that dont work, DISABLE scart control, then reenable it.

Thanks Jimbo. AV2 is enabled for switching as I have discovered that I can switch to AV2 using the standby button on the Sky remote - now if someone could just tewll me how to get the `Sky` button to switch to AV2...............
RE: Help with Sky and New TV Set-Up
Take Sky off of channel 6.Disconnect the DVD from AV1.(I am assuming there is no vcr anywhere).Connect Sky to AV1(hopefully RGB-check first),making sure that Sky is set to RGB on the picture settings. Then connect the DVD player into the VCR Scart on the digibox. This way you will get RGB from both devices.Take Sky out of the RF loop, this causes confusion, interference and is not necessary. You should not record or watch Sky using inferior RF.This will stop the switching over you mention. This is the ideal set up,but I get the feeling you are now going to mention something that will mess it up.VCR?What are you recording on?BTW,with Sky set up,you should not need to view analogue anymore, unless you are recording from Sky.Remember only Sky will give you proper widescreen pictures

RE: Help with Sky and New TV Set-Up
Yes....here it comes I do have a VCR - is that me done for?
Also, how do you set sky to RGB?
Ta.
RE: Help with Sky and New TV Set-Up
You can change Sky to RGB if you go to system set up then picture settings. However,if you are not connected via RGB you will not notice the improvement.
The VCR cocks everything up.Do you record from Sky all that often?

Do I? - No....Does my girfriend? - Yes.
Therefore the VCR cocks everything up.......thanks for the help though.
RE: Help with Sky and New TV Set-Up
Ah ha! Ive cracked it! The prblem was that when I had set up my remote initially Channel 6 had been picked as the Sky channel. You can reset this by:
Pressing the TV button
Pressing the Green and Select buttons together until red light blinks twice
Pressing select - the red light blinks twice again.
Also, connected the DVD through the Sky box to try to take advantage of RGB output from Sky but all the colours went strange on the DVD - any thoughts?
Thanks again.

RE: Help with Sky and New TV Set-Up
You will probably need to manually change the dvd output to RGB in the settings menu.If you have been using composite you should notice an improvement.Sounds like the dvd may be set to s-video
RE: Help with Sky and New TV Set-Up
I checked and the DVD is set to RGB as is the Sky box but I still get bizarre colours. Is the Sky box manipulating the signal in some way?
