I`m looking to buy a digital camera - probably 4m to 5m pixels - with telescopic lens. Any recommendations as to make/model/shop/ and best deals going. Thanx,CoolerKing

Coolerking, have a look at this thread. Also check out the review sites before you buy.

The Sony DSC-P10 or DSC-P12 at 5 megapixel or the Canon Ixus 400 at 4 megapixel seem to be a couple of the best cameras around. I am happy to hear about any other recommendations.

Sam.

I have tried a few of the top brands and have settled with my nikon coolpix 995.It has 3.4
million pixels and produces exellent images the trick is to take a lot of pics because
some always come out out of focus or under exposed which ever camera you use.
I usually get about 80% of pics to my satisfaction, I also found with nikon that their pics
stood up better to cropping and photo manipulation on the pc.
hope this helps; Ted

Incidentally, I know THE COOLPIX 995 is now outdated but there is the new coolpix 4300(which I have just orderd for my daughter) and also the coolpix 4500 4mill pix both have exellent reviews . I bought my cameras from Nomatica on the web they are good,
anyway these are only sugestions obviously. Ted
