Thank you nelley for taking the time to listen to my points concerning the blue shadowing.

I am very happy to hear there will be a fix for it soon.

Are there any plans to cure lip sync on region 1 discs?

A note to all the people who give scan a hard time:-

How many company directors listen to their customers and work to solve problems?

I started posting about the blue shadowing less than a week ago and now there is a fix for it due soon.

Give this company a break

I have to agree with Xeno. Scan get too much negative feedback on this site. I too have had problems with my SC-2000 but have always found Nelley and the rest of Scan helpful when sorting out my problems.

You take the biscuit, what a load of old s***!

When I buy anything I don`t expect to keep running back to the supplier
and getting fixes for it all the time, nor do I expect to have two or three replacments and then come on here belly aching about scan having a hard time from ex-customers.

And prey tell me what about the cutomer who has got no computer and can`t get access to all the s*** fixes that bodge along till the next one comes along!

Im sure that when people bought their DVD players they did not want to open a correspondence course with MD director to get faults fixed that shoudn`t be there in the first place!

Just look at the forums, hardtime what bullshit!

OK, the SCAN machine may not be perfect, but at least we know there are people out there working on making it better.

SCAN machines can only be bought on the internet, and if a customer can`t be bothered to do a little research before they buy, then that`s their tough.

For the price of the machine, I think the pros outweigh the cons.

Bear

Ok here goes

£175 =

a dvd player with brilliant picture
a multi region dvd player
a dvd player that is macro free
a dvd player that plays mp3 at brilliant quality
a dvd player that plays vcd and svcd
a dvd player with flash upgrade cabilities
a dvd player who`s company director listens to the customers and acts!
a dvd player who`s company sort problems at no cost to the consumer

I recognise that things still arnt perfect with the scan but they are improving every day (i made a point last week concerning a problem and now there is a fix for it available this week)--how many companies do that??

I understand that if people dont have a cd writer or access to a pc then it can be a big problem- but the improvements are being made all the time and customers are benefitting.

I see your point bear

Have the intelligence to see mine

Without plugging Scan too much, you can order over the old fashioned telephone. I`ve definately seen adverts in the magazines that gave the SCAN a good review.

But what about all the Scan owners who do not have access to a CD Writer?

I would think that most Scan owners will have access to a CD-Writer to blow firmware upgrades if they chose to do so. The SC-2000 is after all one of the best mp3 players out there and anyone who wants to play mp3`s would have a CD Writer. I would also think that Scan or someone else would take the trouble to post out firmware upgrades on CD to any SC-2000 owners without access to a CD-Writer. If not then there is a small business idea for someone out there.

However, the original post is a really good example of the supplier of the SC-2000 actively participating in this forum and implementing a policy of continual improvement. Mp3/DVD players are complex things and they will need upgrades to address new requirements and address fixes as required. Look at how often PC Video cards have driver updates. Get real.

Ask yourself this question: Does the supplier of your player inform you on this or any other forum, about a new release of firmware to address a problem discovered less than one week ago? Answer = Yes, then you own a Scan. Answer =No, then you have just realised something very important in life. No go away and deal with it.

Keep up the good work Nelly.

Without starting a "handbags at fifty paces" arguement, all we are trying to say is when you buy something you expect it to be the finished article. You don`t expect to have to do all the work on it.

Surely there is sense in that?
