Toshiba SD330 getting warm

houston (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Thursday, 4th September 2003, 12:41

I bought my new Toshiba 330 recently and am delighted with it however I`ve become slightly concerned with the amount of heat it produces. My old Samsung used to stay perfectly cool but the Toshiba seems to get pretty warm. Even with some space to breathe above it, it`s getting quite hot especially with long films and I was wandering if this is just my unit or if it`s a characteristic of the model.
Do I need to get it replaced or does everyone experience this heating?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well, my SD330 gets quite warm as well, and there is nothing above it (well, apart from the roof to the house :p ). But it is quite a compact player compared to my previous Panasonic player (which stayed cool). So I would say it is not too much to worry over, unless it starts to effect the DVDs.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, no matter how wrong it is ;-)

Im getting one on saturaday from richer sounds.

Btw do they really beat amzaon if u show proof by £10 cos if amazon is £79.99 then will they sell at £69.99 im hoping so :)

Anyway the only place i can realistcally put it is on top of my video player which the video player is on top of my TV. Will this cause problems if so got any sugestions cos ive got this like heavy mahogonay video cabinet with two doors and no draws there isnt much room on top and the tv goes there and the video had to go on top but if the dvd goes on top of the video player will the heat from the tv go through the video to the dvd player ?

Or is it time to get a new cabinet if so can anyone recomend a one for a 21inch tv (soon in a few months widescreen tv) and 2 draw places for video and dvd players. got to be cheap as possible.

It might well be a `thing` with Tosh players my old 2109 used to get fairly warm after being on for a while. It never melted or owt though ;)

I couldn`t think of anything witty.
