Page 1 of Lord of the rings - The Two Towers & Warfdale 750s Problems

Just got my genuine copy of the two towers, it displays the copyright warning then freezes after 31 seconds. Have tried my sisters copy and and still getting the same problem, 31 seconds then it freezes. Can anyone help ?

I have just spoken to Wharfedale who insist that there is a faulty batch of LOTR Two Towers DVDs and there are people who have got them to work in their players, hope this is the case as I have already swapped mine once, can anyone confirm this

My 750s was fine... well it got about half way through and then locked up. It had been doing that more and more wiht all DVDs so its been consigned to the tip.

After a lot of messing about about, i have been able to get my copy playing if, after inserting the DVD i keep pressing the menu button. It skips past the 31 seconds mark and jumps through to the main menu and it plays the whole film fine.

Hope this helps anyone else who is strugling - i know i was fuming.

I have also got it working I spoke to Richer Sounds where I got my 750s from and did what they suggested and it worked. When the DVD is loading, before it starts playing the copyright screen press the stop button a couple of times. This prevents the copyright from starting, then just press the play button and the film starts. You can also go back to the main menu as well. Apparently this also works for Matrix Reloaded which has the same problem

Having the same problem with my ALBA DVD108 (okay, I know its a cheapy).

However, the above "fix" doesn`t work for this unit - anyone have any other ways round it? Also getting the problem on Young Ones S1 - but curiously not S2!!

Just to add to the confusion. My father has the same problem with his copy of TTT film disc. It also freezes at 31 seconds (the point at which the legal blurb ends and the track to the film menu kicks in). But the features disc which is part of the same package glitches slightly at this point but plays on.

I have the same machine as my Father (750s) although mine is a year older. I tried the same disc on my machine and...it plays perfectly. This indicates that it isn`t simply the film that`s at fault here. It could be that there has been a software/hardware modification to the machine since I bought mine, and this might cause some discs to be less compatable with the player.

Either way, if there`s a foolproof workaround for `Big Freeze at 31`, I`d really like to hear it.
