ST:Nemesis & The Cyberhome ADL528

Hi everybody

Over the weekend upgraded or at least tried to upgrade my Cyberhome ADL528 - which didnt take, caused a few probs that resembled the documented bugs, without upgrading the software or the splash screen, this was rectified by d/grading.

OK the nub of the matter - Anyone else had probs with Star Trek Nemesis?

After the above operation on Sat - I played the film & found a horizontal distortion bar across the middle of the picture (during the film not in the start up menus/copyright notices), this was present in both Scart & phono connections with various degrees of severity after power cycling cleaning disc etc etc.

I swapped the DVD over to the Cyberhome 400 from the bedroom & again same distortion bar when played via the SCART but not via the phono connection this time (fortunately).

The kids films played normally before & after when the 528 was reconnected.

Dodgy copy (Choices Video Store)? Anybody else had this problem with Nemesis?

Hi,
what color was the distortion bar, i have a yelo 800 that could have the same problem. With some buena vista discs, a single color bar appears on the screen. I think that the cyberhome and the yelo share the same components. where did you get the firmware upgrade from?

:)

The horizontal distortion bar (like watching through a jet engines exhaust) was exactly that with no colour tint & only affected the middle third of the picture.

The firmware upgrade I got from the cyberhome help forum & the downgrade back to its original software from www.adl528.com, this website covers the known varients that use the same chassis/hardware but badged differently (Atrend, Tiny & Accessories???) I havent personally heard of the Yello.

At least I was able to watch the film in the end on my CH 400. ;)

From the lack of any other feedback regarding this film maybe I was unlucky with my copy. :/
