list of 528/cs98010 based DVD players required
Hello All
Not entirely sure if this is the correct place to post.
I`m currently trying to modify the firmware for various 528 based players out there. There`s not too many about if you have a player that you know has this chipset can you let me know.
I`ve included a link to a typical menu on the player so you can check for similarities.
P.S. If anyone has a dead Bush DVD141TV combo or compatible going cheap let me know.
A typical menu on these types of player.

Players I know have this chipset
Cyberhome ADL-528
Cyberhome CH-302
Kotron DVD-101
All-Tel DVD-101
Bush DVD141TV TV/DVD combo
Possibly has this chipset too
Goodmans GTV34RDVD TV/DVD combo
There`s also a Akai combo machine apparently too
Anyway if anyone knows anymore or recognies any similarity to the included to their own player let me know.
Thanks

What you really mean to say is a list of Cirrus Logic CS98010 chipset players, rather than "528" chipset players, which is a tad confusing.
Incidentally, I wouldn`t let similarities between menu screens be your guiding rule : the vast majority of firmwares for players are designed in the Far East, most of them by the same house : hence you can have ESS and MediaTek chipsetted players with identical menu systems.
The only pure proof is under the bonnet, to see if the CS98010 chipset is on the processor board.
Not that I`m trying to pour water on what you`re doing - it`s always very helpful to get similar chipsetted players together, as often the hacks will work across the piece - good luck with your venture.

Thanks for the comments all taken on board.
The cirrus Logic CS98010 was originally manufactured by Luxsonor and marked as LS528C.When Cirrus acquired Luxsonor they renumbered the chip.
Any units I`ve found so far seem to have this type of menu system - the wording may be different ,it tends to appear from the bottom left of the screen and in this strange style, but yes there are probably others that are completely different.
Anyway the question remians if anyone comes across any players or combos that use either of these chips that I haven`t mentioned can they let me know.
Does anyone know of a site that lists players and the chipset used inside them?
Anyway thanks for your comments much appreciated.

This is the only one I know, but it`s well out of date :(

Thanks
That site has actually answered one question as to what chipset is in a Minowa DVD-101.
By the way very impressive site - area450- particularly interested in the IDE to TCP/IP device, that is featured.Keep up the good work.

Yes, all stemmed from the release of a revolutionary player called the Sampo DVE631CF in the US, released in late 2001 that was actually the first one to feature a Compact Flash reader. Thus, coupled with the standard PC DVD-ROM drive the player was running not one, but two IDE devices.
Therefore, folks with older Taiwan-built Sampo players (and their clones, like Encore DV450 and Wharfedale M5) running IDE devices can now run the firmware from that DVE631CF and hook up any combination of things - e.g. hard drives for large media jukeboxes (see here for a whole section devoted to these mods).
The IDE to TCP/IP connection was our most significant breakthrough, mainly down to the persistence of the manufacturer of that particular device - unfortunately, in the time it took for them to iron out the wrinkles, Kiss released their DP500 just pipping an independent community of owners in creating the world`s first networked DVD player. The difference is we had more fun getting there and it didn`t actually cost us anything to do.
Nerds ? Us ? Definitely :)
