Page 1 of I feel cheated!

I bought my 28" toshiba 28w23 widescreen tv about 6 months ago and I have only just noticed that it is identical to a Bush can`t remember which, which is much cheaper. Because it is cosmetically the same, does that mean it is the identical throughout?

Not necessarily - the Bush may be a stripped down version, with fewer features - but clearly they are built around the same basic chassis at the same factory, and `badge engineered` by the respective companies.

The maxim `you get what you pay for` evidently doesn`t apply to modern consumer electronics; don`t assume that a product is better just because it`s more expensive and has a well-known brand name attached to it.
