SC2000 Firmware Upgrade - Player Busted :(

Gray (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 17th January 2001, 18:13

I just tried upgrading my SC2000 firmware from 1.64 to 2.04s and now the it`s just bust big time.

I loaded the CDR I got a bluey / pinky / garbled screen, but it had the name of the file and said `writing` or something.

The CDR popped out, i removed it turned the player off and back on, then....

No LCD display (its just blank)
My TV flickers as if it`s trying to lock onto a signal

Can anyone PLEASE HELP ME!!!! I can`t even get the tray open to re-load the CDR and have another go. Is there a cold restart I can do to get back to the original firmware???

Somebody please HELP ME!!!!

I`ve tried most of the firmware upgrades without any problems Gray.

Sounds like you must have one of a few faulty machines.

Mail Nelish on this site for assistance on a pick and drop replacement.
He seems a very helpful person.

I recently upgraded the firmware on mine from 1.93 to 2.04 and mine went a bit weird by not playing mp3 files and refusing to powerdown and open the tray.

I updated 2 more times and then it worked again but still misbehaves.
Dosent matter cos its going back tomorrow and being replaced with a new one which i wont be upgrading as its a lot of hassle for very few actual improvements.

He was very helpful with me and sorted my drop and pick.

Hope this helps.
