Page 1 of Help Please !!! My Schneider 857 wont play DVD+R

My player will play everything but dvd+R, do i require a hack or is it that they just dont play these disks.

Completed reg 1 hack, to see if that had anything to do with it but it just displays "No Disk" ????

Ps mine has also started to vibrate, so i have the perfect opportunity to take it back to asda if anyone recomends a better swap????

It`s unlikely there`ll be a hack simply to allow the playing of DVD+R if other similar media plays.

Is there a better alternative swap at asda???

Richard159 your player now vibrates too? Ive had 2 players today and both suffer badly from this. The first seemed to do it with every dvd i tried but the 2nd only does it on some. But the noise is way too loud to ignore so its going back tomorrow. I think ill get the pacific 1002 as i know someone who has one and its a great player, it just doesnt have 5.1.

Did you ever get your 857 to play DVD+R because other sites are saying that the 857 WILL play them, but mine aint having none of it. It just spins showing its loading then stops saying No Disk??.

The vibration is in the disk tray, it sounds like the disk itself is vibrating when spinning at a faster speed. Head doing all the same :-(

The Pacific sounds a decent swap but can anyone confirm that it plays DVD+R aswell as everything else??

sorry i dont have any copied dvds to try in the 857. I do know that my mate with the pacific has some copied dvds that play no problem but i cant say for sure if they are dvd+r or dvd-r. sorry not much help there.

Can i ask what does "Head doing all the same" mean? But i agree it sounds like the disc is vibrating but only when its spinning at a high speed. How long have you had your player?

Sorry Graham,

"Head doing all the same" was meant that what ever the noise it was making was still doing "my" head in when trying to watch a film.

Brought my 857 23rd Jan 2003, but it will be heading back tomorrow, just i`m not that convinced that the Pacific will play the DVD+R, and its gonna look suss if i end up taking the pacific back aswell !!!

So anyone out there who can confirm that the Pacific plays DVD+R let me know as times running out.....
