Proline 1000 Problem. Please Help!!!!

Joey2303 (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Monday, 21st April 2003, 15:28

Okay. Here we go!

I`m having a lil problem with my stand alone DVD Player and thought I`d ask you all for a lil help.

My DVD player is about 2 years old and never gave me much problems until now.

Its a cheap and cheerful Proline player (I`m in the UK!) and I used to have brilliant quality sound and picture when I connected the machine through my VCR via Scart.

But...My VCR recently broke so i thought i`d have no problem with connecting it via scart straight to the TV. I get perfect sound now but picture is only in B&W.

I spoke to a guy at work who told me that a 21 pin scart would solve my problem. I brought one of these today and it still the same, which is a bit of a *****.

I love my Proline and don`t want to get a new machine as the problem, i feel, is fixable. I have a PS2 and an XBOX but I want to watch DVD`s on my Proline due to the extra features it offers.

Any help would be appriciated.

Thanx in Advance.

Joey2303.

Can`t really help with your problem but it`s that i had a proline too and it was about the same age as yours .
The problem with mine was when i was watching a dvd the player just shut down and could`nt get it to switch back and then i had to open it up to get the dvd out ,so beware of this problem.
At the end of the day i payed peanuts for mine and just got a tosh 220e mr at richer sounds to replace it .It was a great dvd player ,pity about the gold paint job on it but it`s had it`s day sorry.
P.S please, please don`t get any of the new proline`s now as their not the same as the 1000 for picture and sound quality and look very cheap as i `ve have got the 2000 model and it`s crap
