Philips DVDR880 and editing discs

I have the Philips DVDR 880 machine. As u will be aware on this model u can insert markers (chapter marker) and make them hidden so that you can miss out the adverts etc. When u play back the disc the film or whatever plays and skips the adverts as if they were not there.
My question is this.... When playing the disc back on a normal DVD player the adverts are still visible. Is there anyway around this...do all DVD players ignore the hidden chapters.
What I want to do is record onto a rewritable disc....edit this so the adverts are hidden and then record from this disc onto a DVD+R disc.

Anyone any ideas or knowledge of this ?

When recording your edited +RW to +R make sure you have made Edits Compatible in the menu screen.

This will then copy the edits and play them back "hidden" on your other DVD machines.
