Richard159 (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 22nd January 2003, 20:45

Looking to replace my Aiwa DV370, for a region free player that supports all disk types especially SVCD, Macro disable would also be nice but arn`t sure which of the DVD`s below support this. My options are:

ALBA DVD 114
TECHNIKA DVD 1020
PACIFIC 1002
DANSAI 955
CYBERHOME CH DVD 505 (not sure where to buy one from over the counter.)
SCHNEIDER 857

Your comments would be greatly appreciated as i`m buying one of the above tommorrow.

Regards

Rich

Always got to put the two Asda machines in pole position as apart from being able to play just about anything they have had generally good reviews and the three year unconditional warranty is well worth having.
imho P.

If you dont mind me asking where did you buy yours from and what sort of price are they knocking out at? also, does it actually play SVCD disks? and can macrovision be disabled?

Thanks for your time
