Has anyone tried the stabilizers from Lektropacks or Maplins? Do they work?

i`ve got the maplin one called a video stabiliser, just a small grey box with a composite in out and bypass switch and it works really well, except the copy is noticeably brighter than the original, as if someone had turned up the brightness control on the tv.But it does de-macrovision the signal..

I have the video copy box from keene electronics,it works brilliantly and has S vhs sockets as well as composite, also a black&white switch too.
They were selling it at 39 Quid. Highly recomended. Also it does NOT alter the brightness either
