hi there can anyone help with a crack for this dvd player its plays everything except svcd where it plays picture but no sound if anyone can help please contact me thanks in advance

Probably needs a firmware upgrade - later ones handle SVCD fine.

Audio on svcd should work.
Check your sound options - you may need to change from 96k to 48k compatible (can`t remember the exact words).
If that doesn`t work try switching from digital audio to analogue.

If you have an older 114, it`ll have an older firmware version which does *not* support sound playback from SVCD. Later versions (such as those being sold by Argos at the moment) are fine - I think Makro and possibly Tesco still had the old versions.
I`m not sure where you`d go from here - I haven`t figured out how to upgrade the firmware version yet (or dump the existing one). The 114 is technically very similar (if not identical) to the Cyberhome CH-505, but I`m reluctant to use the Cyberhome firmware upgrade in case I trash the player.

Did anyone ever figure out how to get the audio on svcd using this player? I purchased mine from Argos in December so I assume that it is one of the players `without` the correct firmware that MikeG describes.
