Sorry, this is not an answer, just another question...
I want to buy a DVD that not only plays mp3`s, but shows the listing on (tv) screen. Anyone know if this jobbie does it (like the Sony DVPNS305, who call the facility an mp3 browser)?

Features for Philips DVD-634 player:

Multiregion DVD, CD, VCD & MP3 player

Dual laser drive for CD, CD-R, CD-RW playback

MP3 playback

Fully functional infra red remote control

Smart Picture function enables Personalisation of your picture settings to create
the perfect brightness, contrast and saturation for every movie you watch

3D surround sound mode simulates a multiple speaker effect for improved sound quality from your CDs or DVDs

Perfect Still picture and Zoom

Parental Control and Disc Lock

SCART socket video output

**Dolby Digital & DTS optical digital audio output**

1: You need an amplifier that is DD 5.1 and DTS compatable to play DVD`s with these sound fomats (as well as 5 speakers + a subwoofer).

2: DTS does offer a better sound quality due to the fact that is `less compressed` onto the disc. But DD 5.1 can be just as good on some discs.
