Green wavy horizontal lines on my TV...What`s all that about?
I`m pretty new to all this so forgive me if this sounds a bit crap!
I have a Philips widescreen TV, along with DVD player, Home Cinema and satellite. The TV has 2 SCART sockets and only 1 is `RGB`. I have the DVD player connected to the RGB compatible SCART socket on the TV, and the Satellite & VCR connected to the 2nd SCART socket on the TV. I`ve swapped these round a couple of times to see if i can get the best picture and from what i can see, it`s best when the DVD is connected to the RGB SCART. The SCART cables are `Cambridge Audio Premier` which i purchased this week so are better than the standard leads supplied with the equipment.
Now i know this may seem a bit of a stupid thing to say, but when there is no signal coming from the DVD or Satellite, there are faint wavy green horizontal lines going across the television (green on a black background). The satellite picture is by no means perfect, and in some dark scenes (night scenes, music videos, etc), you can actually see these faint green lines on the TV. Also the picture from the satellite is not as crystal as the picture from the DVD.
Obviously it`s not life or death, but i`m just wondering if there is something i haven`t done, or whether perhaps the SCART socket on the TV is a little bit moody (the TV is 2 years old). You know how it is - you spend a reasonable amount on equipment, so you want it to look as good as you can.
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers.
