please help. i want to buy a dvd player abt £100 that will play downloaded films, copies etc. does it have to say vcd compatable? what does it mean by CDR and CDRW compatable? dont know much abt this. thanx.

Hi Nic, Try checking the specs on Pioneer DV350 or 454. These can be found on the net for about £110 - £125. They play all discs, including DVD+R and +RW, -R and -RW, CDR and CDRW and VCD`s etc.
DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/-RW means it will play DVD`s recorded from a DVD machine. CDR and CDRW means the DVD player will play music CD`s copied by a CD recorder.

hi i have just bought a maxim dvd player from woolworths it plays everything plus it has two microphone plugs on the front it also can be used as a karoke machine it plays karoke discs with words on screen £79.99
