Philips 28 pw 6006 owners please look in!

Right then a question for all you 6006 owners out there, how many of you have a problem with a dark picture when using RGB?
I`ve been trying for the last 2 months to get the picture right and was about to buy a new player when I discovered that quite a few people have got the same problem with this set( but not all)!

What do you mean by problem? I use my DVD player, dreamcast, Gamecube and SKY digital all through RGB and have no problems with any of them using this TV.

Basically quite a few people, myself included get a very dark picture when using the RGB input. With s-video or composite it is fine but when I use RGB instead of shadows I get a black block and no detail!

I`ve had nothing like you say, but I bought mine over a year ago now - maybe a problem with newer models.

How much did you pay for yours? I got mine from 24-7electricals.co.uk for £325 and notice its gone up over £400 now.

£320 delivered from anything-direct.
I think I`m going to ask for a replacement, it`s really bugging the hell outta me!

I have the 32inch version and have the same problem, with exceptions, i will explain. I have a philips itv-digital set-top box which has a perfect picture via rgb, my playstation2 via rgb is way too dark and totally unwatchable. i have recently purchased a sony dvp-ns305 dvd player which is 80% watchable but dark areas and scenes are still too dark but no where near as bad as the playstation2. i have to view both sony items via s-video to get perfect picture. I also had a venturer dvd player which was as bad as the playstation2!

What i would like to know is why one item is perfect, one item so-so and one item is unwatchable!? Electronics don`t just luv `em!!!

P.S i have had the tv about six months!

Same problem here. I can`t use RGB at all. S-connection is fine though, as long as I don`t cycle through from the video input first. Have to cycle through from a channel to get a good picture.

Anyone had an engineer have a look at it? I`ve got one coming next week, should I bother?
I have a pioneer dv-525 at the mo, is a new player likely to make a difference?

No problems at all of this kind. The set is just over six months old.

I wouldn`t bother with an engineer. Doubt if a new DVD player will make any difference. Just use the s-connection and it will work fine. Not worth the extra expense.
