Scan Firmware. Some Points.....

Malky (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 19th December 2000, 20:56

Anyone noticing a delay between pressing a key on the remote and the appropriate response from the Scan player? Seems to have started with firmware v2.04. A bit of turbo lag perhaps? ;-)

I also had the player hang (first time it`s ever done that) when I started Gladiator with the DTS soundtrack. It hasn`t happened since though.

And for Nelley....

You say that long filenames for MP3`s are due in a mid-January firmware release which is good.

But I`d also like to see a better menu system for MP3`s where you can navigate around the files even when one is playing. Can`t currently do that.

I`d also like to be able to use Program to select a list of MP3`s to be played (same as audio CD`s).

And is the screensaver a fixed item or can it be changed in any way? It is becoming a bit of a bore when I`m playing MP3`s ;-(

That`s my thoughts at the moment. Comments?

Malcolm

The questions are Malky.

Does Nelish have much influence on the Korean Manufacturer for improvements ?

Is the Korean Manufacturer reviewing this website forum for user Input to improve the product?

How many other countries does the Korean manufacturer supply to. I.e. The UK may only be small fries. ? We know that it has supplied Daewoo and some Manhattan brand aswell.

Why doesn’t every firmware upgrade have a history of bug fixes or additions.

Maybe we should just be grateful for the macrovision and region code removal. ?

Answers on a postcard…?

I think it would be better to simply blank the screen. I do find the floating logo a bit off-putting when all you want to do is to listen to music.
