Problem with new AIWA 370

Ian H. (Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 17th December 2000, 12:27

I`m hoping someone can help me, I bought the Aiwa 370 recently GB firmware (Nicom version 1.2 2000804).

On the set-up I can choose Scart R-G-B, which I much prefer to S-Video.

Anyway I recommended the 370 to a friend who purchase one from Comet (as I did), and Component Video is displayed instead of Scart R-G-B.

Also of concern is that with Pseudo PAL On, NTSC region 1 films are still running at 60Hz which causes flickering on his TV.

If it has more than one SCART you will probably find it only has RGB on one of them.

Worse than that though, it could be that his TV doesn`t support RGB at all. Judging by your next comment it is quite an old TV and so may not. What does the TV`s manual say?

Correct, Pseudo PAL on = PAL 60, Pseudo PAL off = PAL 50. So turn it off.

[Ooops, misread component as composite, duh!]

Good point Troll, and ya saved me having to type it! lol

And the "Scart R-G-B" is now called "Component" for our overseas friends!

AIWA 370 9officially) ROCKS!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for clearing that up - the lying monkey told me he had tried the pseudo PAL with both options - but obviously not.
