I`m on the verge of buying an E30 but haven`t had chance to have a serious look at it`s output playing pre-recorded DVDs. One magazine article (Home Entertainment, Nov 2002) mentioned contour blocking on colour gradients, producing contour outlines even with high quality pre-recorded material.
Is this really an issue? What do owners think? The Philips machines (880 etc) seem to get very good press in terms of image quality. Is the DMR-E30 picture quality not quite as good?
Thanks in advance
Dave

Hold out and go for DMR-HS2. Check out WhatVideo`s reviews. A lot of them are pretty good. Panasonic have some of the best algorithms for MPEG video + they were one of the first manufacturers to bring out a DVD player.
