sony kv28ls60 and NTSC disks

Hi

I have recently purchased a sony 28ls60, old tosh sd100e dvd, sqart rgb cable to rgb input. Options for dvd ouput are set to auto (options are Pal or auto). Tosh is chipped to play multi region and Macrovision disabled.

On playback of ntsc disks when the picture is dark I get a thin white line on the top of the screen running from the centre to about 2/3 across. The line goes if the picture is bright!
Altering picture settings, different inputs and cables makes no difference.
All ok with Pal disks (amazing picture), worked ok with my old tosh tv (not widescreen so may not have shown up) with same setup.

Is it the tv or the player (I am not able to connect another player or widescreen tv)? any ideas before I have to go down the route of an engineer call out for the tv?

cheers

How good is the KV28LS60 mate? As I am very interested purchasing one but need some "real world" opinions first :-)

Apart from the slight problem mentioned (one off I believe - but easily corrected) it is a fantastic set. As with all sets very much dependent on input. I have a signal booster that made a big difference and a RGB scart for DVD for which the picture is fantastic. 100hz but does not have the signal processing that can cause problems with text and imaging. I did a lot of research before committing and am very pleased with it. The picture on DVD with good connection is excellent, I even replay scenes to check out the detail (v sad). I have a surround system but the sound on the tele is not bad either, plus it looks great and does not impose on the room too much.
