You could worse than the APEX AD 1100WB from Asda for £70 which has recently been hacked via a CD firmware upgrade to be Region free & Macrovision free....only drawback (& that`s being worked on) is it doesn`t play VCD`s

Whereas the region-free (but not VCR friendly) Alba 108 from Argos for £70 does play VCDs, via a hack :-)

As does the Bush player John Lewis are selling for £70 does too (see Bargain Buckets).

I recently bought a mustek dvd player availiable from www.ebuyer.com
just punch in this quick code:36154
It comes in black or silver and has all the usual capabilities like 5.1 capable, and other sound options.
Best of all is it plays everything from dvd to svcd to mp3,cdr cdrw and more.

It is region free capable via a remote hack athe above site directs u to the correct place.

at around £90 (includes delivery) u`ll never want another dvd, vcd player

Get the Dansai 1010 from Tesco for about £85. Call the on screen help line and ask for the up grade disk. When it arives put it in the machine and let it up grade the firmware. Now go into the hidden menu as follows - setup, press each key on the last two rows of the remote starting with the row before the last. Up will come a menu allowing you to make the player region free (region 0) and to switch off macrovision.
