RyanCM (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 4th September 2002, 16:13

I`m looking for a DVD player with a built in Dolby Digital and DTS Decoder, optical input and an RGB out and in if possible I don`t know if such a player exists but I`ve been looking for a long time and haven`t found under £800! any help will be appreciated,

Thanks, Ryan

When you say optical in and RGB in do you mean optical out and rgb followthrough?
If so then the new Pioneer 656a from techtronics for 297.00 does the lot!

Scan 2500 approx. £115

Has RGB out, Optical out. It also decodes DTS. Region hack is simple.
It plays all disk formats.

The only complaint I have is the fact that I missed deal of the day on www.scan.co.uk I could have bought the same player for £98 on its own or with a six speaker home cinema kit (which also came with a free webcam) for around £198.

Check this out b4 you part with your hard earned cash.

What is an RGB Followthrough? and I want an optical input so I can input the signal from another system ie.Mini Disc player, Xbox etc.

Surely the optical input should go to an amp, not a DVD player. What do you expect the DVD player to do with the signal from a minidisc player?
