Hope someone can help i have just got a phillips 623 dvd player and have connected it thru the the video and it has a black and white picture. it is an ntsc dvd , i used to have a grundig player which connected with same leads and in the same way came up colour , can some one help thanks in advance

Have a look at the video output set-up menu. There should be settings for NTSC, PAL and AUTO?. Set it to PAL and try again.
If still no joy try connecting it direct to your TV and trying again.
