How can i get 5.1 through my Sony DAVS300 using my Xbox?
The Xbox outputs 5.1 but im not sure how i can get my sony to decode the signal.
The inputs in the back of my DAVS300 are crap. I only appear to have an S-Video coax, and regular AV leads.
Help, cant play 5.1 games or DVD`s through my Xbox!!

i have a davs 300 as well ,,the x-box has 5.1 out can you connect it to audio in on video 1 or 2 if you can get scart to rca then set fuction on dvd to video one or two ..god knows if it will work .....here is a quote from dvdplayer.co.uk
Unlike the DAVS400. 50 and 800 since the Sony DAVS300 does not have 6 channel input or an optical input then connection to this system for 5.1 sound is not possible. ?????????? Can you do me a favour i cannot find my manual can you give me the cudes and intructions to get my remote control to work any tv......thanks

Ive already got my Xbox set up as you suggest. It outputs prologic, but not 5.1.
Having read that comment about inputs, i think its right. Not to worry, all i was doing was wanting to play my region 1 dts dvd`s using region X for the xbox.
I guess i will just have to get my system chipped. I am quite happy with it, so im not going to get the 400, well not just yet anyhow.
