Page 1 of Need help ASAP with H&B DVD-5415S.......

Hi, just got the following DVD player and although picture is fine etc, i`m having big problems with the sound, as follows;
1.can not get any sound through my surround sound kit other than DTS, the only inputs to my surround sound are Coax and Optical (am i buggered here?)
2.Even when I get the DTS to play the sound cuts out for a second at a time and is very very irritating.

ok sorted out the no sound thing after some changes on the dvd player, however, am still having trouble with the sound going off every few seconds,could this be down to the connections used?it only happens on the dvds, cd`s work fine so am stumped, again any help is welcome, thanks.
