Page 1 of RGB and Sanyo
Hardware Forum
Recently purchased a Sanyo CE28wp4-B to replace my older Sharp 28". Seemed like a good buy until I tried to watch a DVD. The picture was dull, lifeless or grey as my wife described it. All I could adjust was the brightness but changing the setting on contrast and colour made no difference at all. The set has an `eco` mode which is everything turned down and this seems to be what it is set on for RGB. If I connect to the second scart, turn RGB off on the player and set the tv scart to s-video, I get a good picture. Strange thing is that with the player set this way, it is supposed to be outputting composite but if the tv is set to composite, the picture is woefull. Is this a known problem with Sanyo or is there an engineers menu where I can change the RGB settings. The player by the way is a Wharfedale 750s that produced great RGB on my old Sharp
Fact of life seems to be the RGB on Sanyo tellies is not particularly brilliant : my S-video picture on my Sanny is better than RGB too.
Thanks Clayts, I was afraid that was going to be the answer. Will have to stick to current setup. Pity is I have to connect my cable box into the RGB socket and set to composite. Thanks again
