Looking through the list of "Hackable" DVD`s I think I`ve bought the only one in the world that isn`t. Can anyone advise please?

No hack, mod only.

Pioneer, Sony, Panasonic and Toshiba = no remote control hack by owner, irrespective of model number.

most chippers will need you to send the player , others will sell DIY chips but the DIY chips will be 48 pins and VERY difficult to fit

check these sites , you may find one local

The 444 can`t be hacked, but can have it`s firmware modded to make it multi-region. This needs to be done by someone in the know, but it can be done by connecting a PC to the back of the unit. Much better than soldering new chips in and stuff. Get it sent away to one of the above.

Is that the same "plugmod" as featured on this page?

The installation procedure (German -- use Babelfish) seems to be very nice: http://www.dvdupgrades.info/manuals/newplugmod.pdf

Do you have the contact details of a UK supplier..?
