Page 1 of BUSH DVD142TV

i have just bought this 14 inch portable and am very pleased whith it,it
plays dvd reg 1 & 2, vcd ,cdr cdr-w and also mp3. it plays svcd perfect picture but no sound which is a bit queer, does anyone have any ideas why thanks

Ive just got one of these too its excellent but does any one now how to save the picture and volume settings so I dont have to reset them every time I switch on the TV I cant find any reference to this in the Manual even tho there is personal settings button

Can anyone confirm that the Bush DVD142TV does play region 1 and 2 please. i know someone who is considering buying one and needs to know....

I have a DVD142TV (purchased from Argos) and mine does not play region 1 DVDs.

If anyone knows a HACK I would be very grateful !

To Store info

Enter the menu for the TV, enter Sound option for example, set the volume level that you desire as default, using arrows move the cursor down to Store, and then press the "RIGHT" arrow on remote

Where did you purchase this TV from, cause I got one from Argos for my four year old girl and she can`t watch her Buzzlightyear DVD on it (Region 1)

I also have the bush dvd142tv and it will not play region 1 dvd - hence my search on the internet for a hack.

I did find a way of getting into the tv set-up menu however...

When the TV is running (make sure the TV button has been activated - top left on remote)
Press MENU button (2nd button down from top right)
A box will pop uo with MENU - sound - picture - install - program -
Press 4 7 2 5 (STANDBY will memorise the settings)
The following information will pop up in a new box.
Use up down arrows to access the settings which will adjust the TV picture and Intermediate Frequency (IF coils) Automatic Gain Control - Vertical and Horizontal settings etc

Be carefull not to mess too much with the settings - Remember to make a note of all your numbers so you can put it back together as it was originally.

I have indicated below what some of the numbers can adjust - Maybe they can also adjust the region settings but I think not. Please let me know if you find a successful hack with the multi region setting.

i have a bush dvd142tv and was wanting to know if it played region1 dvds as there is a dvd i wish to buy which was only released in region1, but reading from the messages here it would seem it is not and i have tried the dvd hacks on my tv but to no avail. i do no get the word "version" appearing or entering a "secret area", now my problem could lie in the fact that the original remote for my tv broke and i had to replace it with a universal remote (a "One For All - URC 7740" to be exact that i just picked up out of comet or somewhere like that) my question is : is this remote the reason i cannot get the hacks to work? also in the steps for the hack it says press the dvd function button on the tv but there is no dvd function button, i assumed it mean just to tun it onto the dvd (ie. press play). i am hoping i have not messed up and am talking about a different tv here but just to be sure here is a link to a picture of my tv to view if it is the correct one we are talking about my tv
