hi does anyone know of any firmware hacks that will let this player play pc based vcd etc ..at present my player only plays r1 & r2 ,vcd discs .but no cd-r etc..so downloads from the net cant be played.?

i have a 709 .i removed the regions and macro vision by going to http://www.regionfreedvd.net/player/samsung.html. the machine will play movies only if they are burnt on data safe media disk ,i don`t know why but they do. but only problem i have just heard the,ve changed the format and the silver premiuns don`t work. i am try to find another brand? if any body knows

The link seems to work if you go to regionfreedvd.net and then do a search for samsung 709 Biteman!
