anybody know ? if a UK spec machine had a US Xbox DVD kit on it would it act as a hack and allow Region 1 to be played ?

Alas, no. I recently returned from Florida with a region 2 playback kit and 10 R1 DVDs. The blasted thing didn`t work...At least it was only £18 or so wasted.

There will be a region x disc available soon , you can see details of this on the web site www.ply247.com under the x box section , this allows you to play any region disc on the x box
