i know i sound like a prat but i was wondering what is filmware and what is it used for and also ive heard people talking about upgrade discs for dvd players what r these???? baybe i dont know because my dvd player doesent use filmware or something please help!!!

It`s called firmware, not filmware. Although meant for Samsung DVD players, my site FAQ has a bit of general info about firmware, see here:
