Page 1 of Help for Ferguson 400FE?

I just got a DVD player today, and have already applied the multiregion, and VCD cracks.

Is there any way to make this machine read CD-R copies, because at the moment, it either refuses to read them, or plays 8 secs, pauses for 2, plays another 8.....making it unlistenable.

I have the same player, the laser is not the right wavelength to play CR-R`s I`m afraid, so not hadset hack will help.
You`re lucky to have found a brand of CD-R`s thay plays at all.
However, it does play CD-RW`s fine.

Do you find you can`t play DVD`s until you take the VCD hack off?

Apart from that, an excellent little player, I think it`s great :)

I found that it plays both DVD`s and VCD`s fine, automatically switching between modes, though sometimes it takes a long time to recognise a DVD.
I compared the player against my Pioneer 505 that`s in my cinema room, and apart from the static menu screens, which seem to be at a lower resolution, the picture was near identical. Much better than the Samsung 709.
It also manages to put out a pure NTSC signal when switched to AUTO in the picture menu which suits my Davis 450 projector just fine.

How do you get this player to work on vcd`s?
I have done the hack as per Tevion dvd-200 and it fails saying no disk.
I have tryed CD-R, CD-RW VCDs.
I think i may be appling the hack wrong.
when i put the audio cd in,do you let it play? (no2 ).
and when you press the index button it reads "all-1" not as stated which is "1-all" (No6).
the last operation press No1 button (the tray is out).
do you just put the vcd in ,
I have tryed various methods but no luck.
The Regon hack worked 1st time no probs.
This is my 1st DVD Player so i am new to this game.

any suggestions would be apprecieated.

Next Day :
after 1001 try`s finaly cracked it it works 100%
but now trying to find CD-R media that it will read .
CD-RW is !00% any brand.
Any ideas.

I have just obtained a DVD 400 FE and the Tevion dvd-200 hack, the multi region bit works OK, but I`ve stuck on the VCD side of the hack.

As per your original message, do you wait for the audio CD to start.

At operation 6 pressing index button does not bring up the 1-All messager, however, the open key brings up the messgae regarding enabling the VCD by pressing button 1.

Pressing button 1 says VCD is enabled, but my VCDs do not play (no disc message)

I am on try no 100, still a long way to go

Hi I am now struggling to get the Tevion Hack to work ?
after Step 4(Press Menu) thats it you are stuck in the Menu
Step 5 seems to do nothing and I cant get to Step 6(Index) cos Im still in the Menu what the heck an I doing wrong any ideas anyone
