Page 1 of bush dvd142tv help

I have a bush dvd142tv and was wanting to know if it played region1 dvds as there is a dvd i wish to buy which was only released in region1, i have tried the dvd hacks on my tv but to no avail. i do no get the word "version" appearing or entering a "secret area", now my problem could lie in the fact that the original remote for my tv broke and i had to replace it with a universal remote (a "One For All - URC 7740" to be exact that i just picked up out of comet or somewhere like that) my question is : is this remote the reason i cannot get the hacks to work? also in the steps for the hack it says press the dvd function button on the tv but there is no dvd function button, i assumed it mean just to tun it onto the dvd (ie. press play). i am hoping i have not messed up and am talking about a different tv here but just to be sure here is a link to a picture of my tv to view if it is the correct one we are talking about my tv
