SONY DVP-NS700V - MULTI REGION? WONT PLAY R1 - HELP!
HI THERE. JUST PURCHASED A SONY DVP-NS700V WHICH IS APPARENTLY MUTI REGION, HOWEVER IT IS REFUSING TO PLAY REGION ONE DVDS. ANYONE KNOW OF A SOFT HACK FOR IT? OR AM I LOOKING AT `CHIPPING` IT?
PS - ANYONE HAD PROBS WITH A NAD T550? I TRIED THREE BEFORE SWAPPING TO THE SONY. THE NAD HAD MAJOR SOUND SYNC PROBS IF YOU SKIPPED A SCENE OR PAUSED ON ALL THREE PLAYERS! BEWARE!

There`s no original remote hack for this machine. It has to be chipped or "flash" upgraded. Some dealers have a SERVICE remote for this that can enable multi region playback.
If you were sold the machine as multi region, then you should contact your retailer and ask them what they intend to do about it!!!!

The Sony was in the Mail on Sunday this week, described as a multi-region machine, from the manufacturers, so I`d keep digging around to see if a hack turns up at some point - or get a copy of the article and wave it around in your local Sony shop.

Sony NEVER supply Multiregion machines .... if you ever see a Multiregion Sony player it has been upgraded .... the problem the guy who made the first post most likely has is with RCE disks ....

That is the player has been upgraded for Multiregion but not RCE compatible

Shows what the press know! Huh, either they reviewed a multi region machine without realising Sony don`t actually manafuacture them multi region, or more likely, the reviewer had only seen a picture of the machine and invented the article :-)
