THIS MAY SOUND A SILLY QUESTION BUT WHEN U SAY `PRESS STANBY`, DO U MEAN SO THAT THE MACHINE IS ON OR OFF? CALL ME IGNORANT. I DONT KNOW THOUGHT I MAY AS WELL ASK.
Also is there anything i can look for while doing this hack that will confirm its success? ie will a number appear on the screen indicating the region etc?

for those havin a hard time with it, i thought id tell u what i did. but i dont wanna take the credit away from andy.

ne ways....
1. PUT A REGION 1 DVD INTO THE PLAYER.

2. TURN THE PLAYER OFF WITH THE DVD IN IT.

3. TURN IN BACK ON.

4 WHILE THE DVD IS LOADING, TYPE IN THE CODE GIVEN BY ANDY (5, 7, 5, 3, 8, 9)

5. PRESS OPEN B4 THE DVD HAS CHANCE TO LOAD.

6. WAIT 15 SECS

7. PRESS STANDBY

8. TURN BACK ON. IT SHOULD LOAD UP THE R1 DVD

Does anyone know what the `latest` firmware is? I have 5.02E and can`t get it to work, tried both methods (with and without the disc).

this is not a wind up! i got it to work!!!!

ok, try the steps upto the bit where u open the drawer. so do everything i did upto the key in sequence. it should load up the disc, but it didnt stay hacked after turning it off.

I tried the different methodes but i can`t make the hack to work, i tried with open close , i tried with cold start , i won`t work please help me , it`s driving me crazy, i got a Samsung DVD-M105 Zone 2 player....
