i have a panasonic DMR-20 dvd standalone recorder and want to copy protected macrovision"watermark" dvds. does anyone know how I can by-pass watermark and record on to dvd-r
RE: DVD stand alone recorder
The only way to do it is to have some sort of macrovision buster that sits inbetween the a dvd player and dvd recorder, but doing this will NOT produced 100% digital copies. You get a sort of high quality recording.
To copy 1:1 you will need a PC and a DVD-WRITER, this is the only way.
I know people who are doing this right now.

RE: DVD stand alone recorder
The DMR-E20 can only accept video through either S-Video or composite (even the SCART is composite in, no RGB in). As suggested above the source DVD either needs to be Macrovision Disabled itself or if it isn`t a macro disabler box in between the DVD Player and DVD Recorder.
