I dont know these players at all and this is a pure guess .... Thomson players have tended to be Samsung based for a while now so it`s worth trying the Samsung 511 hack from this site ... chances are this wont work as even if the player is Samsung based many Samsung based players tend to have had the remote hack removed from the firmware.
Assuming the 511 hack doesnt work you need to UNPLUG THE UNIT FROM THE MAINS and compare the board to the picture on my install page
if the picture matches the board in your player then you do indeed have a Samsung x05 Clone with unhackable firmware
Ah I`ve just thought of an easier way to confirm whether you have a Samsung clone without removing the cover .... hold stop and play on the front panel together for at least 3 seconds .... if the player resets back to a menu asking for language then you have a Samsung clone.

Hi Steve I have a Samsung DVD 511 which act`s as you have described am I to assume that this DVD player cannot be converted to multi region by any means.

No ... you should try the 511 hack from this site and if that doesnt work then the player can still be chipped

Do I want my Dansai chip back for the last time ??? that`s the first time I heard that .... No I dont want anything back .. Dansai is now remote hackable hence the reason it can be no longer ordered from my site ... it`s still listed but when you click "buyit" you get an error

Once a player has had a remote hack discovered then that`s it for me ... I dont bother reading those threads any more ... the chip is now off the site
